Vice-Mayor survives drunken shooting

Bais City Vice-Mayor Miguel Real survived a random shooting incident in Barangay Cambanjao by a drunken bully, Wednesday evening.

A police report revealed that Real was traversing the road when he was forced to stop to investigate a commotion and saw a drunken suspect later identified as Juarin Tresquio, who was assaulting some motorists and could not get through as the latter was blocking the road.

Real’s vehicle tried to navigate the road but the suspect drew his gun and challenge them to a shootout. Tresquio allegedly fire his .38 caliber pistol hitting the government car boarded by Real and his driver Guilliermo Bao.

No one was hurt except that the vehicle’s windshield. The suspect then fired another shot before escaping. Policemen, who responded to calls of assistance from the residents eventually cornered the suspect after a hot pursuit.

Recovered from the suspect was one .38 cal. revolver, homemade, without serial number, with two live ammos (one was stuck on the tip of the barrel) and four (4) fired cartridges of .38 cal. revolver. The arrested suspect will be charged accordingly.
