TACLOBO: still a bridge too far “starts after soil sampling…”

The City Government has self-generated P100-million to build a vital bridge that would soon link the old to the new commercial district crossing Taclobo/FU and BIR. Meantime, a wooden cranky footbridge would hot stop thousands of motorcyclists from crossing daily in this vital link of civilization. Mayor, please hurry up those two bridges! Some commuters loudly complain about the inconvenience in traversing the destroyed spillway connecting Colon St and Bagacay at the back of Foundation University using the improvised wooden foot bridges that could only accommodate motorcycles.

However, the city government is determined to replace the spillways in Taclobo with full span concrete bridges at the back of Foundation University and near Bureau of Internal Revenue at P 50 million each. Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo has already set aside P 100 million for the twin projects that for the first time will sourced out from local funds.

The soil boring tests have been completed and will be used to make the appropriate design and size of the bridges. For now, the administration is appealing the public for patience and understanding so that the two bridges will be realized as part of the long term solution minimize traffic and spare the motorists from danger during flood.
