SSS dues-evaders get final warning

DUMAGUETE CITY, Quezon Park – The Social Security System (SSS) has given final warning to Dumaguete’s  non-compliant employers on their obligations  to report correct employees data, under Republic Act 11199 or Social Security Act of 2018 as they conducted its Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign here on June 27 at the Quezon Park .

SSS Acting Vice President for Operations Legal Services Divisions I and II Renato Jacinto S. Cuisia said that out of the 11 non-compliant employers, four have failed to report the correct number of their employees and remit their worker’s SSS contributions, and another seven employers did not remit their employees’ contributions to the SSS.

SSS regional Director Lani Benedian and SSS branch head Elisa Llaavan issued this stirn reminder:

“We actually warned them several times by sending demand letters. However, it is unfortunate that they didn’t respond to any of our warnings. That’s why SSS Dumaguete branch decided to include them in the employer list for the RACE operations,” Cuisia VP Operations also seconded.

SSS posted Show Cause Orders at New Yan Yan Commercial, Eden’s Kandingan, U Feel Fun Inc., Southdale Integrated School Inc., Dumaguete Memorial Park, Nuat Thai, and Buffers Water Treatment and Technology due to non-remittance of SSS contributions.

Meanwhile, the same notice was also issued to Bagong Proceso Oficina Inc., Dumaguete Industries and Marketing Corporation, Tri-DM Construction and Engineering Services, and JM Trucking for under reporting of employees and non-remittance of SSS contributions.

SSS Dumaguete branch is expected to collect P1.7 million worth of contribution delinquency after the operations.

All employers subjected to RACE Campaign should respond to the Show Cause Order within 15 days from the receipt of the said notice. “This is to remind our employers that criminal charges can be filed against them if they failed to comply,” Cuisia said.

Meanwhile, the pension fund is also encouraging delinquent employers to avail of the on-going Contribution Penalty Condonation Program until September 1, 2019.

“Business owners who were subjected to RACE this morning may also avail of the condonation program. Employers should take the advantage of this opportunity so that they can conveniently settle their contribution delinquency to SSS without paying the accrued penalties,” Cuisia concluded.

Aside from Dumaguete City, the SSS conducted the RACE Campaign nationwide particularly Binondo in Manila, Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija, and Iligan, Lanao del Norte.
