DUMAGUETE CITY – Government workers stand to receive an additional P5, 000.00 productivity enhancement incentive (PEI) by December 15 following the release of the guidelines by the Department of Budget and Management.
Department of Budget Management said that the government employees can receive the PEI not earlier than December 15, provided they are still in service as of November 30, 2017 and have rendered a total of four months of satisfactory service.
Hence, government agencies have asked their employees to submit their performance report to their respective heads and supervisors for rating to measure their “productivity” as the means to get the incentive.
Those eligible to receive the PEI are civilian personnel, whether regular, casual, or contractual in nature, appointive or elective, full-time or part-time, now existing or created in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches, the Constitutional Commissions and other Constitutional offices, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and GOCCs not covered by Republic Act 10149; Officials and employees of local government units; Military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Department of National Defense, and uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police, Philippine Public Safety College, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau Jail Management and Penology under the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Coast Guard under the Department of Transportation, and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Earlier, the government also released the cash gift of P 5, 000 and year-end bonus equivalent to one month salary last month to all officials and employees.
However, those who have been found guilty of administrative cases are not supposed to receive the bonuses and PEI.
“For the national government agencies, an estimated amount of P7.5 billion has been set aside in the 2017 Budget to finance the PEI grant of around 1.5 million workers across the national government,” the DBM said.
