First P177M/SAP aid released

The Dumaguete City government announced Friday that more than P177 million will be dis-tributed this week to 29,600 grantees of the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo said recipients who qualified as target beneficiaries will receive P6,000 in emergency cash aid while the city is under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

He said the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) will release the cash assistance to 4P’s beneficiaries through cash cards including those identified as “poorest of the poor,” unconditional cash transfer (UCT) recipients under the DSWD’s Listahanan 2008, and displaced workers, among others, for two months.

According to CSWDO OIC Lilibeth Filipinas, the list of qualified families has been validated by members of the City/Municipal Action Team (CMAT).

Remollo said they have fast tracked the processing of the necessary requirements or documents for the rollout of the SAP assistance in coordination with the barangays.

Remollo said the payout will be done at Burgos Street where chairs will be set up far apart from each other, prepare a thousand of ballpens for signing and alcohol or water and soap, and about five tables for the paymasters to observe strict social distancing. (PIA Negros Oriental)
