DPWH eyes rehab of 6 Negros Oriental road networks

NEGROS ORIENTAL – Members of the Regional Development Council in Central Visayas has endorsed to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for funding and implementation the  six major multi-million road projects linking multiple cities and towns across the province of Negros Oriental.

The proposed road projects are expected to support trade and agri-tourism industry in the province in line with the objective to accelerate infrastructure projects that will serve the needs of the people, promote greater access to markets, production areas and vital industries while mitigating road congestion.

Endorsed to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for funding and implementation for the Construction/Rehabilitation and Improvement of barangay roads connecting the Municipalities of Sta. Catalina-Siaton-Valencia-Sibulan; improvement of Jilabangan-Lag-it-Himamaylan boundary road; Guihulngan-Magsaysay-Hinakpan-Luz, Negros Oriental to Isabela Negros Occidental Inter-Provincial Road; Bayawan City-Kalumboyan-Villasol-Manduao, Negros Oriental to Kabankalan City Negros Occidental Inter-Provincial Road and the Canlaon City-Barangay Bayog-Barangay Lumapao to Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City Negros Occidental Road Project and Ayungon-Amdus-Tambo-Banban-Lamigan-Carol-an to Kabankalan City road.

The RDC has requested for funding and implementation from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) under the Roads Leveraging Linkages of Industries and Trade Program.
