Chronicle’s sister paper RP’s Best Editorial Page


The Negros Chronicle’s sister publication , The Bohol Chronicle, now on its 65th year dedicated to community journalism, coveted the “Best Editorial Page” among all the nation’s weekly newspapers during the PPI {Philippine Press Insstitute) 23rd National News Forum at the Jen Hotel in Roxan Boulevard, Manila Friday night.

The PPI citation stated thus; “The BOHOL CHRONICLE is given the recognition and cited for the Best Editorial Page (Weekly) for giving importance to the role of an Editorial. It has provided significant space and good layout that articulate the newspaper’s valuing of its editorial.

The CHRONICLE editorials have dealt with issues that have relevance to its stakeholders. There is an objective explanation of issues and the writing is concise. More importantly, it provides a feedback mechanism for its readers, which manifests interactivity and dynamic communication and connectivity to its audience” Bingo P Dejaresco III, Editor-in-Chief of the BOHOL CHRONICLE received the award- the fourth national award won by the paper in this decade.

In 2012 it was voted by PPI as “The Best Editorial Page”, The Best Disaster Reporting” in 2013 and “The Best in Culture and Arts” Coverage in 2014.
