Former finance minister Margarito
"Gary" Teves engaged the top echelon of the power industry with a no-holdsbarred question and answer session in an effort for this geothermal province of Negros Oriental to get its fair share, and treatment in power issues such as rates, taxes, and royalties.
It was learned that the Energy Development Corporation the mother company of the Green Core Geothermal Incorporated earned almost P 5 billion in gross income.
Teves issued three major questions which power consumers in this geothermal-producing province are also raising in search of frank answers in various major policy decisions that affect all power stakeholders in Negros Oriental.

We don't know who gets the commission or whether it becomes part of the general fund, the acting city treasurer has yet to clarify.
