Technically , most if not all senators who voted in favor of the C-5 issue must share the blame, for the C-5 issue as inserted the 2009 national budget that authorized the funding of P200M more, for the road project . Worse, this was approved by the Senate four times according to Sen Joker Arroyo. Why did this extension of the C-5 as a toll-free road got virtually no objection from senators as the budget advanced through the legislative mill?
It is on record that “On four occasions, the members of the Senate agreed to the P200-million insertion.” according to Senator Joker.
The paper trail of the bill from the approval by the Senate finance committee to the Senate’s ratification of the bicameral conference committee report, show that the Congress hammered out the bill’s final version before it was sent to President Arroyo for signature. Why the blame now on alleged irregularity? Who made it so, Villar, whose company is benefited, or those legislators who gave their imprimatur?
The trouble with our legislators, nay even the locals, is that once there is occasion to dump even a colleague just to boost their own selfish agenda, they waste no time in feasting on it. Even we media people are victims of this bad crab culture.
Is it not correct to say that those who voted for its approval are technically estopped from challenging the feature of a measure which they shared the responsibility of passing?
On the other hand, nobody is perfect. If later our honorable lawmakers— and policymakers for that matter — find out that what they did was wrong, then, there is always a way of rectifying an erroneous decision if not, legislation.
For us the people what is important is TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT. And if something went wrong somewhere, efforts must be made to correct it, otherwise, the countless mistakes made by our leaders in the past, present and future, —without rectification— will surely sink this nation into the abyss in no time now, and in future.

absolutely correct! this joker arroyo is no joker!
they all should be blamed! but now they are trying to wash their hands just to prop up their very dirty images!
same way as the rest of the politicians! they try to blame- dramatize and exaggerate things and events to bolster their images, AS IF they are not equally guilty!
Do what is right? I think its “do what makes our wallet fat”. And oh, we are already fast sinking, only we haven ‘t reach the abyss yet.
