High schools and colleges paraded around the city, Friday, to show their support for wildlife conservation here in Negros Oriental. The activity was led by the Negros Oriental Wildlife Conservation Council members that include members of the Environmental Desk Officers (PEDO), Department of Environment and Natural Resources, ENRD, PENAGMANNAKI and the Office of Vice-governor Jose “Petit” Baldado.
Dressed in feathers, masked hornbills, monkeys and turtles the students carried placards with slogans, “SAVE WILDLIFE, SAVE THE WORLD” and “CREATED by GOD to be cared by YOU.” This is in celebration of Wildlife Conservation Month, now on its 8th year.
The NOWCC, chaired by VG Petit Baldado, is making progress in its conservation efforts through information drives in schools. RA 9512, known as the Environment Education Act of 2008 seeks to integrate in the school curriculum wildlife protection and consrvation.

What are they are doing are just propaganda parade when there is no wildlife place in the city except in squatters area or on the street when traffic in this city is so wild. They are parading when the rest of the province go hunt for wildlife or cut down trees or mangroves. You say they are expressing support when city folks buy caged wildlife for their homes. Or buy firewood from cut down tree homes of wild animals. They are parading for petit.
